GNX tour — custom MIDI controller
Full creative direction and graphic design for a custom MIDI controller for the Kendrick Lamar and SZA Grand National Tour, from the visual concept through design development and the final surface artwork.
Racing stripes and artist portraits connect the controller to the tour’s visual world. The initial proposal paired a bold, boxed title with simplified portraits. Revisions introduced typewriter lettering, more detailed imagery, and a smaller lyric placement.
The finished controller and annotated proposal pages below show the project from concept to final design.
